VEGAN 101!

Perhaps you've seen a documentary or heard a friend talk about plant-based diets and the healing power this lifestyle can have on the body.  You'd like to give it a try but don't know where to start. 

Or maybe a loved one has decided to go vegan and you just don't know what to cook for them.  Or perhaps you are not ready to dive into the"deep end" of vegan living, but you'd like to add more plant-based meals to your menu.  This is the class for you!

Come learn the basics of Vegan cooking!  In this two hour class, we will answer your questions on nutrition (spoiler alert: vegans get plenty of protein!) and cover how to stock your pantry, where to shop, what to order at a restaurant, and how to cook delicious meals with ingredients you can pronounce.  We make it fun, informative, and tasty with nutrition information, cooking demonstrations, take-home recipes and tastings.

THE JOY OF SOY!

Edamame, Tofu, Miso, Tempeh, Soy Milk..... These are a few of the versatile, nutritious products made of soy, a food that the healthiest people in the world have been consuming for generations.

In this two hour class, we will talk about the health benefits of soy foods and dispel the myths about these foods.  Soy has gotten some bad press and we will set the record straight using research based facts.

Then we will prepare a variety of dishes- including an entree, salad, and dessert-- using several soy products.  Fact sheets, recipes, a food demonstration, and tastings are all included.
